What Sets Us Apart
Why Organisations Work With Us
Practitioner-Led Engagements
Every engagement is led by a senior consultant with direct operational experience โ not delegated to junior staff after the first meeting.
Singapore Governance Depth
Our work is grounded in the realities of Singapore's regulatory and corporate governance landscape, informed by first-hand experience within local institutions.
A Discreet Working Model
Governance work often surfaces sensitive findings. We operate with a high degree of discretion, and confidentiality protocols are in place before any engagement begins.
Deliverables That Get Used
Our reports are written to be acted on, not archived. Every recommendation is sequenced, contextualised, and written with implementation in mind from the start.
Defined Scope From Day One
You know exactly what you're receiving, when you'll receive it, and what the engagement will cost before any work begins. No scope ambiguity mid-project.
Post-Engagement Follow-Up
All engagements include a structured follow-up conversation after the deliverable is received โ to clarify findings, answer questions, and discuss implementation priorities.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked
What types of organisations does Katong Verve typically work with?
We work with a broad range of organisations โ from founder-led businesses formalising governance structures for the first time, to established professional service firms managing knowledge at scale, to boards and leadership teams preparing for significant strategic transitions. Our work is most useful where the decisions being considered are consequential and where leadership wants an objective, structured perspective rather than validation.
How does a first engagement typically begin?
Most engagements begin with an introductory conversation โ typically around 45 minutes โ where we discuss your organisation's current situation, what you're looking to address, and whether one of our services is a reasonable fit. If both sides agree there's a clear match, we provide a written scope proposal before any work begins. The first conversation carries no commitment and no cost.
Are your services appropriate for early-stage or founder-led businesses?
Yes. Some of our most productive work has been with founder-led organisations establishing a board structure for the first time, or with professional practices that have grown quickly and need to bring more structure to how knowledge is held and shared. Early stage is not a disqualifier โ what matters is a willingness to examine things clearly and act on what is found.
How is confidentiality handled?
All engagements are covered by a mutual non-disclosure agreement before work begins. Findings, documents, and discussions remain strictly between our consulting team and the client organisation. We do not reference client work in external communications and do not use client information for case studies without explicit written consent.
What does a completed deliverable look like?
Deliverables vary by service. A Board Composition Advisory produces a written report with a structured recommendation set. A Knowledge Management Framework ends with a full framework document, audit findings, and implementation guidelines. A Comprehensive Business Audit produces a unified assessment report and a prioritised action register. In each case, the deliverable is written for use by leadership teams, not for filing.
Can scope be adjusted once an engagement has begun?
Scope changes can be discussed once work is underway, though they will generally affect the timeline and may affect the fee. We find that careful scoping at the start reduces mid-project scope discussions considerably. If something significant changes in your organisation during the engagement โ a leadership change, a merger, an unexpected finding โ we'll have a direct conversation about what it means for the work.
Are engagements available on a project or ongoing basis?
Our services are structured as defined project engagements with a clear scope, timeline, and deliverable. We don't currently offer open-ended retainer arrangements โ we've found that project-based engagements deliver more useful outcomes for the type of governance and strategy work we do. Many clients return for successive engagements as their organisation's needs evolve.
